The Grounds

You enter Canard Ferme grounds via a short driveway with mowed grass verges. On your left is a "fosse" (boundary ditch) which has been expanded to form our duck pond. This area is very relaxing, somewhere to sit quietly and read a book when other members of your group play games and splash in the pool at the back.
 
Also at the front you will see ducks, hens, our kitchen vegetable garden, and a variety of flowers changing with the seasons.
 

 
The front of the building shows a traditional covered verandah. New dormer windows have been pushed through the tiled roof to make airy bedrooms upstairs. Our own home is on the right, Drake House on the left, and Duck House out of view on the left.
 
Behind the house is the swimming-pool (shallow end with steps; deep end about 1.5m).
Choose your favourite time for a dip: even midnight with the underwater lights switched on!
 
Adjacent to the house is the old barn: the front covered area is equipped with table tennis and darts, welcome recreational alternatives when the midday sun is too hot or heavy showers send you for cover. Behind the barn is a climbing frame, swing and tree-house for the teenagers who never seem to rest.
